So basically to sum things up, Welter is the new Lee/JJ. Looks physically ready, coaches like him, practices well, but disappears when we go up against great opponents.
Bingo.
It's easy to look good in practice, when you know your teammates, and you pretty much know the play sets and schemes. You see them everyday.
It's a different ball game when you don't know the guy across from you, and their one and only purpose is trying to knock your lights out.
P.S.
And QB's aren't even allowed to be hit in practice, which totally removes the true pressure and fear of being whacked by a defender. Which is a drastic difference from what's expected on Saturday.
This is why many teams get caught marrying decent QB's that often fold in any pressure packed situation.
I.E. Romo, Schaub, Stafford, Palmer
All NFL QB's with arm talent, but fold anytime pressure is near.
They go through the entire week looking like all-pros, because there is no fear of being hit. Then on Sunday, when it's all live, they more often then not are the cause of their teams downfall.
