I hear ya brother. I am hoping that we have a (relatively) smooth AR 15-6 investigation regarding him. If the findings are that he committed a crime, then I want a well run trial. He does not need to be made a martyr in the criminal process. Let the system work.

Berghdahl should be acutely aware of his predicament: he is a citizen of a country that loves their guns. Think about that for a second. If you live in a country that loves cupcakes, imagine how they would feel about an institution that specializes in cakes, cupcakes, all the deserts you can imagine.
This country loves it's guns; thus this country glorifies the military. Berghdahl seems to have spurned the war, and it's effort, at the least. Death threats and probably actual attempts will be a way of life for him from now on.
