You're probably right, however, Supes was literally beaten to death by Doomsday. I don't think anyone has ever come close to taking hulk down with just a beating.

Yeah. Doomsday killed Superman and I am sticking with Superman being unable to kill Hulk and Hulk getting stronger to the point he can harm Superman.
Doomsday proved there was a point of strength greater than Superman.
Based on everything I have read, Superman would need to kill Banner before he became Hulk.
He doesn't have mental control abilities so don't bring other being's powers into the fight.
Straight up Superman vs Hulk, eventually Hulk wins and the damage to the world makes MOS look like a kid playing with those snake fireworks.
Also comes down to killing Hulk. Would Superman purposely set out to kill Hulk. Would he hold something back.
Hulk would not have that little moral pickle messing up his head.
