re: I think the current age of immediate media viewing may be harming our experience

I love it because I rarely get to watch tv episodes when they air. Once I get behind on starting a typical non-sitcom (i.e. a show where you have to watch the episodes in order), it used to be impossible to ever catch up, so I had to just write off the series entirely (i.e. The Wire, The Sopranos, Lost, 24 (when it first aired), Mad Men, ect). Now, I can go back and watch these series in order on my schedule. It's a huge help.
