As someone who lives in Miami I will tell you.

The school does not support the team like other big state schools do. (We don't have a stadium, it's in "talks" right now) UM is very academic focused.

Awful coaching this past decade, I mean terrible.

These coaching choices make a lot of SoFLA players head to Gville or Tally.

No money goes into new facilities, recruiting, and keeping a cool image. New uniforms just wont cut it.

A small private school, zero fanbase, recruiting from the ghetto. They have to cheat, and cheat hard, to be good.

UM has a huge fan base, you're ignorant if you think differently. You have to realize the stadium is 30 minutes from campus. What student wants to travel 30 minutes to a football game? I sure as hell wouldn't want to. The stadium has an awful tailgate scene and is in Miami Gardens which is a complete and utter shithole. Administration is too hard headed to realize football success will only grow UM more. If UM built a stadium by campus I promise you people will fill it up. (This is what they're trying to figure out) Miami football is still the talk of the town, don't think differently. UM has a reputation as a safe, uppity, rich, and very good private school (located in the nicest suburb in Dade County) yet they can still have a huge following in the ghetto. Recruiting from Liberty City built the U. The school was the first college to take and field straight thugs, nothing wrong with that - my high school built their name doing the same

Here's the distance from Campus to the stadium.

Which is strange, considering that's exactly what happened 30 years ago.
