E10 fuel is perfectly acceptable fuel to use in all internal combustion engines. While not as efficient as 100% gasoline, it has NOT been proven to lead to any issues in car or boat engines...

E15 and higher is potentially damaging though. So as long as you run E10 (which is what most gas stations carry now), you're 100% ok.

According to Mercury:
quote:

"After the transition period from E0, E10 may actually be a superior marine fuel as it tends to keep low levels of water moving through the fuel system, keeping the system 'dry.'"

Here's one of those LINK things y'all like.

bullshite. im a small engine/outboard mech and even w proper care ethonol will get moisture in it. fuel lines dint last as long and requires way more maintenance. it's all propaganda from the corn lobbyist

Just gonna leave this here.

quote:

A 300-horsepower Mercury outboard, one of the company's most expensive engines, sustained valve damage after 280 hours of testing, while an identical engine running on gasoline without ethanol wasn't damaged.

"We need lawmakers with a broader vision, and a policy discussion that goes beyond engine performance," said Josh Morby, executive director of the Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance.
