Nothing much on TV - started watching john Adams series - not bad. The tar and feathers portion was tough to watch. I googled tar and feathers and learned that actual tar that we are familiar with wasn't used but a similar pine tar.

It's outstanding... my favorite of all HBO series because I am intensely interested in the birth of this country and its founding documents.
Paul Giamatti is great, of course, as is Stephen Dillane (aka Stannis Baratheon) as Thomas Jefferson.
My favorite scene is when John Adams meets the beaten King George III in London after the colonies gained their independence. How awkward that must have really been!

That is nothing compared to the POX fun to come.
I really like the first two episodes but it trails off after that.
Not bad, but just not a tight as the first couple.

Its great. Great depiction of the Declaration of Independence among other things.

I love it, never realized how low self esteemed/borderline paranoid Adams was

I tried to read the McCullough book and it was one of the few books that I just couldn't get through. That kind of put me off on trying the series.

It's going to be hard for me to rewatch the series knowing now that Stannis was TJ.

Too many historical errors in this series.

I loved it. I thought that it was really well done.
