This is just stupid. It's not like they are North Dakota State. To say they never have a chance is plain ignorance as you called it. With the playoffs starting more teams will have more chances than ever before. If UCLA wins the PAC-12 this year (which is very possible) they will be two wins away from a title. Far from "never ever ever".

The closest ucla has come was during Bob Toledo's tenure there. All they had to do was beat Miami in a late season game that had been postponed early in the season due to a hurricane. Both hurricanes bRuined their hopes for a title. At fault: wholly Toledo.
Forget what year that was, maybe 2001?
