Looks like the only area the m8 edges out this phone is the aluminum build

Sense 6.0 is really slick. Speakers are better as well, if you care about that.

Build quality is a big thing for me. I'm doing the T-Mobile Test Drive and using an iPhone 5S right now. It makes my S4 seem like a bigger piece of shite than it already is

I'm definitely on the fence with this phone...I'm hearing so many mixed reviews...Many are complaining of significant lag and that sharpening issue...My s4 active is fine and I could hold out longer if need be but I have the fever for an upgrade.

seems like the lag issue was with a lot of the early reviews of the phone, I haven't seen it mentioned as much with some of the reviews to come out over the last few days

For reviews that mentioned lag were they using the 2gb or 3gb RAM version? It seems like most of the early units were the 2gb version while most U.S. carriers will be getting the 3gb version so that should help. Also the LG UI got a big update so it may take a little while for them to get it optimized. Even my 5s lags from time to time so as long as it isn't like Touchwiz I don't think it'll be a problem.

Is the next Nexus supposed to be based off the G3? Or has Google been silent on it so far?

I wouldn't think so because LG said they weren't making the next Nexus.

The screen sharpening on this thing is AWFUL, and it gets hot as hell when the screen is on. I'm thinking about sending it back to AT&T.

Now here's a couple observations:

+Screen is gorgeous. I only see that sharpening thing when I pull down the dropdown menu. Otherwise, I am not having anything to complain about sharpening wise (YET anyway). If people are complaining about the sharpening when they start bringing the dropdown menu down, that's a bit excessive.. If theres something else that I haven't run into yet, that remains to be seen.

+Camera quality is the best I've used so far in a smart phone. Nothing more to really say here.. and the pics I took to compare to my other phones I did before I changed it to 13MP, so they were actually taken at 10MP off my balcony. Really impressed.

-With my audiophile headphones.. music sounds way too soft. I have the volume maxed out and it doesnt feel that loud to me. This was evident to me in youtube as well as spotify. Ironically, when talking on the phone, this wasn't an issue for me. I am hearing impaired, so this bugs me a lot but seems like something that can be fixed eventually.

+Physically the phone is a beast, but feels great in the hands, and way less bulky than my note 2 which was the last 5.5" screen phone I owned. its in fact thinner than my crappy iphone 4s which is pretty impressive. But I am concerned it can literally fall right out of my gym short's pockets.

+Have not noticed significant lag or stutter yet. I did notice one hiccup when loading this site in fact on the stock browser and had to quit the app and reload the site. I had one instance where the keyboard lagged during a text.. but ive had that on every phone ever.. nothing significanthere.

I think my G3 is the best Android phone that I have owned. Nothing is perfect but I like big screens and different styling so for me it's great. I had a Note 3 before and I couldn't go back to a Samsung . everyone is different but for me I had zero issues with lag or any of the sharpening that is a 'big' complaint.

I've been using mine all day and I'm very impressed. I'm not experiencing any heat ups. I love the screen and the size/feel in the hand. I do see some slight lag but only when several apps are installing. Works great with my new Gear Live. When I link my Bluetooth [LG tones] it puts a battery level indicator in the task bar, cool! I will give it some days and see how the battery it. So far I like it.

Coming from an Xperia Z1 this phone is hands down the best phone I have ever purchased so far. The screen is beautiful. I keep the brightness at 75% with auto off. The speaker compared to my Z1 is fantastic. It's not an HTC M8 but it is exactly what I needed personally. I haven't run into any lag yet myself. I have a lot of apps in my recents and still haven't had a stutter yet. I love the keyboard. Once you get the buttons and height how you like them there aren't too many mistakes being made. I came from TMO so I can't comment on signal. I only had edge before and now I have LTE. My WiFi signal is better which could be due to the materials used to make the phone. The Z1 is glass and metal. So far, I love it. Especially compared to my Z1 that is sitting here.

I see those as well...hence why I'm on the fence...I am seeing more good than bad, but the bad do scare me a little.

Yeah I've seen a couple of complaints about the sharpening and the colors. Apparently they don't seem as vibrant as say, an S4/S5 and there is apparently a slight yellowish tint to everything?

It's hard to tell if these are first world, OCD problems so I'm still going to go check it out tomorrow. I've pumped the breaks a little since the beginning of the week but if I like it I'll get it. If not, l'll wait for the iPhone 6.
