Mo was a very good CB. He certainly merited a high second round pick. The Cowboys showed what a shitty franchise they are when they drafted him in the top half of the first round. Mo benefited by playing behind a terrific front four that shut down the rush then rushed the passer.

Dude, Claiborne was the consensus #1CB for that class. Regardless of who took him, he was going to be the top CB for that class. And the only guy that could have possibly went ahead of him was Gilmore, who went 10th overall. And if Gilmore went ahead of Mo, he still would have been a top 10 pick. He was going early in the 1st. Period.

And about benefitting from playing behind a terrific front 4... couldnt you say the exact same thing about PP, Reid, and TM? And no doubt PP was better than Mo. I dont think thats what the OP is saying. But after PP left, we didnt miss a beat with Mo. He stepped in and we were just as good as we were the year before. And Mo led the team in INTs that year with PP as well.

Your opinion is very flawed. This guy wasn't in Peterson's class, and never will be, even in a million years. Amazing that one of the greatest football players in LSU history, and one of the best defensive backs in all of history, went through LSU, and guys like you don't even realize it!

So is yours. I could say the same thing about you and your opinion on Claiborne. He is 1 of the best DBs we have ever had at LSU. Period. 1st Team All SEC D, SEC DPOY, unanimous 1st Team All American, Jim Thorpe Award Winner, and was 2nd Team All SEC D his sophomore year, which was his 1st year starter.

That puts him in the elite class with the other great LSU DBs. We have had 27 All Americans here. And just 9 All American DBs in the history of LSU. And of those 9, 5 of them were CBs. And weve had 4 SEC DPOY, Lavalais, Dorsey, PP, and Mo. And only 2 Jim Thorpe Award Winners.... PP and Mo. That puts him in that same elite class as PP, Webster, and TM.

I don't know what OP you're talking about, because that's EXACTLY what the OP of this thread wrote. I'm an LSU homer. I tend to overrate Tigers. And even I knew the Cowboys had overreached for Claiborne. You can forget all that All SEC and Thorpe shite. The smart guys in the NFL don't pay any attention to that. That's why Heisman trophy winners fall out of the first round from time to time. I laughed my arse off at the idiots two years ago who thought Mo was better than TM. Believe me, I'd take a Mo every year, but not in the top half of the 1st round of the NFL draft.
