In the end though, it is more apt to state that these areas are economically segregated, rather than racially. The fact that there is a disproportionate percentage of blacks that are poor is an external factor when discussing current segregation causes/characteristics, IMO.

That's really only 100% true if you entirely discount the factor racism plays in inhibiting people's ability to rise in economic class.
