Turns out he was never eligible, because his dad didn't apply for US citizenship or a US passport in time, or something. So his dad wasn't a proper citizen when Potts was born, so baby Potts was defacto eliminated from USMNT consideration.

i had forgotten about him altogether tbh until i was scouring transfermarkt for potential leeds loan targets
