I agree. That's why it's the first time I've changed it n this truck in 3 years. Changing the oil in the 4wheeler and got a wild hair (it was time to change it in the truck too).
But,I'll burn that motor up before I do that again.

my wifes Nissan is that way with the filter. I changed it once. Never again.
