Cooling time

Can someone please explain this to me? I enjoy World Cup futbol, but don't watch a whole lot outside international competition. Are there specific circumstances that lead to cooling time? Ref's discretion? Is there one each half?

They determined set times before the game. I think they said 30th minute and 75th minute.
Because it's hot as frick.

30 + celsius and 70% humidity right now
if its above 32 fifa said there needs to be water breaks
even those sections of the stadium where there is no shade people said frick sitting there

Who determines if they will have cooling time? Are there specific temperatures that trigger it?

I saw.
Anyone know the conditions of USA's first couple games? All we heard about was amazon conditions I didn't even know cooling breaks was an option

There is a fifa regulation for all this
the usa games didn't meet them

I just know they stopped the game for about 2 minutes and everyone went to the sideline.

which was odd but we needed it we don't have this built in advantage with the weather
the one today was fifa mandated
its basically a 100 out there

Anyone have a forecast for Tuesday? I wouldn't mind another hot match against a European team.

um we have no advantage like mexico does
most of our team is euro based

At least half of our starters in the last game play in the MLS or Liga MX.

Which doesn't mean shite bc it wasn't even that hot yet. Clint and Bradley play in places similar to european weather
One mexican based player most the time the majority of the line up is euro based
my point is our team is not all the way acclimated

The first two games we were smoked just like the other teams. A majority of the time its the starting line up has more euro based players who would have the same time getting acclimated as the other teams.

You point would be more valid if it was the middle of the summer for all these road games before the WC. A game or two in those places do not prepare you for the WC in these conditions esp when you go right back to similar european weather.

this has already been proven wrong
we have a frick ton of players going through the same thing as their euro counterparts.
Trust me man coming back to the states in the middle of the summer after being over here for a significant time is like o shite its hot.

This was the second cooling break of the entire tournament, I believe. The first was our game against Portugal, but it was shorter than the ones today.
