Never saw this thread.
Need to take some better pics. This was at ride the bull. That's Dave's kayak next to mine.

Is that a fishfinder or a mount for your phone/gopro? Did yours come with the rocket mounts on the front or did you add those?

I've got a can ready to go I just need to know exactly where to apply it. I don't want to frick anything up.

It's a rod holder.
The guy I bought it from added the rocket mounts. I don't use them though.

Yeah the rocket mounts seem kind of impractical mounted in the front.

My hatches leak too. On the small circular one with the bag I find that the inside the bag gets wet so I can only assume it's an issue with the O ring for the cover. I'm not sure if anything can be applied that wouldn't potentially mess up the seal. I just started putting anything I don't want getting wet in a dry box.

I need some assistance with waterproofing the hatches on my FS12T. The smaller circular one with the bag in it needs some help for sure (RIP my phone). Where should I apply the actual silicone sealant and which sealant should I use? Other than the actual threading where the cap screws in, I didn't really see a great place to put it.
I put a bead on the outside edge of both hatches but neither really seemed to need it.
I have more of a problem with the scuppers. I siliconed the seam on all of mine but I still get a substantial amount of water in the hull, a solid quart or 2 after a trip. I may need to try some sort of flexible marine epoxy or something next time. It's just a bitch to get in the scupper hole and seal the seam.
I just keep a bin and marine bag in the hull to prevent water getting in my stuff so it's not a huge deal

Also, random question. You folks yakking with scupper plugs in or out? Just curious.
I put all mine in unless it's starting to rain. I don't seem to get enough splashing water in it for it to be a problem in the summer heat.
ETA my round hatch hasn't leaked any, but the only thing I keep in there is my phone and it's in a lifeproof case so no worries

I used to have an fs12. I had the same problem with that hatch. I stopped using it and got a dry box too.

Same here, my scuppers give me the biggest issue with water. I think I've about got it sealed up though. If not my next step may be to use some sort of epoxy to seal it up.
On a side note I demoed a Slayer 12 and Big Rig 2 weeks ago. I'm buying a Slayer 14.5 as soon as they come in but I brought my FS12T along to compare. While there are some obvious quality differences like the hatches and plastic being a bit more flimsy, I don't think there is a better value out there as far as bang for the buck goes.

cool, thanks for the replies. the small round one doesn't leak a ton, but it was enough to fry my phone. I was an idiot for putting it in there without a water proof case anyways but whatever.
dryboxes/bags from here on out for sure.

I regret not getting that blue. Looks sharp.

I didn't want it but it was all they had in stock at the time.
Glad I did now. It definitely grew on me.

Same here, when I went pick up my tan one they had a blue in stock and I liked it a lot better.

What brand is that net on your friend's kayak? I've seen it a couple of times in photos.

Anyone added styrofoam to their FS12T for more support? I thought about adding some to sides of the haul to see if I could get a bit more support. Also, is their a trolley system y'all recommend? I need one bad, the wind had me all threw off this weekend.

Not sure of the brand but they sell those at academy.

Sell them at walmart as well.

Never seen 'em. I'll have to look. I like my net but the hoop is a tad small.
