funny I was just thinking about putting together a list of summer roses to seek out when I came across a value list in this month's Food & Wine. here's there recs. see maybe if you can find any locally.

quote:

Wines $10-and-Under

2010 Chivite Gran Feudo Navarra Rosado ($9)
A bright, zesty rosé made primarily with Garnacha and full of graceful raspberry and cherry flavors.

2010 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Rosé ($10)
A hint of sweetness underscores this earthy, crisp rosé.

2010 Goats do Roam Rosé ($10)
A savory undertone balances the hint of sweetness in this fruit-driven rosé made with mostly Shiraz and Grenache.

2009 Capçanes Mas Donís Montsant Rosat ($10)
Made from mostly Garnacha, this is juicy and fresh, with ripe cherry flavors and a savory mix of herbs.

Wines $15-and-Under

2010 Château Guiot Costières de Nîmes ($11)
This zesty rosé, redolent of raspberries and flowers, is a steal.

2010 Bieler Père et Fils Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rosé ($11)
A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsaut and Cabernet, this elegant rosé is marked by strawberry and watermelon flavors.

2010 Jean-Luc Colombo Cape Bleue Rosé Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence ($12)
Crisp and refreshing, with mouthwatering peach and strawberry tones.

2010 Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé ($12)
With soft red currant flavors and a subtle sweetness, this is an immensely drinkable rosé.

NV Cordon Brut Rosado ($12)
This lively, tangy wine is made with the Garnacha and Trepat grapes and has abundant cherry, berry and dried apple notes.

2010 Muga Rioja Rosado ($13)
This crisp, Garnacha-based rosé gets its appley edge from a touch of the white grape Viura.

2010 Château Routas Rouvière Côteaux Varois en Provence ($14)
This vivid rosé’s strawberry, tangerine and mineral notes are pure and refreshing.

NV Codorníu Pinot Noir Brut Rosé ($15)
Strawberry and candied-cherry tones mark this rosé sparkler.

2010 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Rosé
Not really a fan.

There was an article in this weekend's WSJ all about the growth of Rose in the US. Shame. Want it for myself.
