Id say rock bottom is different for each person but being close to homeless or in a trailer, jobless, friendless is pretty much rock bottom.
So you'd consider spending Christmas Eve night alone in a house trailer with no electricity or water and you're huddled over a portable kerosene heater that is both your only source of heat and light as "rock bottom?

Never hit rock bottom but I've hit a few ruts.
I've got family, a few friends, a good job, a good dog, some ambitions, some hobbies, some things that I get excited about.
In the absence of true satisfaction in any one area, a few of those things should keep any man afloat. As much as I value family and friends and faith, having a few things I just outright enjoy doing and look forward to keeps me going more than anything else. Living day to day isn't optimal, but it'll get you through the rough patches.
