I didn't read all of the discussion in this thread. Here in MS, he is looked at as a damn good coach, but just a notch out of the top escehelon. I can tell you, what damaged his reputation a lot more than the mulligan bowl was a few very high profile clock management frickups...other than that, he is right up there with the best of them....

Yeah, if you think 1/9 is the only thing keeping Miles out of this discussion, you are wrong.

What's funny is that plenty of coaches have these. Take a look at what Saban did right before the half against UGA in the 2012 SEC Championship game.

Another pretty high profile frick up was pleading to have one second put back on the clock against Auburn only to have that turn into the game losing touchdown for his team. He directly cost his team a chance at a National Championship with that little argument. That wasn't his only mistake in that game either...

Point being, Miles isn't the only coach in the country that has mistakes during the course of a game. It is mighty easy to point to those mistakes in hind sight.

And no, I am not saying that Miles is a better coach that Nick Saban. It was just an easy example.
