Describe the holes at Atchafalya.
quote:
Framed by native trees and plant life, this challenging par 3 features a large green sloped slightly from front to back, away from the player. A long iron, hybrid or fairway wood shot must avoid the small bunker guarding the front of the green and the bunkers behind which extend across the entire back side. A high shot is required to hold the green. A large mound on the left side of the green makes pitching and chipping very challenging. A back, left pin placement is the most difficult. Make par and you are 1 up on the field.
quote:
A backdrop of large trees and lake on the left make this par 3 a beautiful hole. Usually a mid iron, be careful to play to the area of the pin on this large, undulating “horse shoe” green. Framed by small bunkers on the left, front, and right corners, the putting surface features a large lower level in the center of the green which can be difficult to negotiate. Par is a good score.
quote:
A large tree overhangs the fairway on the right side close to the tee preventing a big draw from finding the green. A fade works best into this large green with only slight undulations. Challenging pitch shots await the player missing this green in regulation, as the areas around the green are much lower than the green surface. Par is a solid score.
quote:
A straight forward par 3, this relatively short hole has greenside bunkers on the right and left sides and a large bunker in the back. The green has few undulations. An open hole the wind can be a factor. A good iron shot will yield a birdie opportunity.

#5 at Santa Maria is not that hard. In fact, I do not think that it is the toughest par three on the course.
ETA: Number 2 at Atchafalaya is a lot harder, IMHO ...

Without question, I think number two is more difficult and probably even number 11 is as well.

He cray
I'd like to know the scoring average from the BROpen on the par 3's

Or the number of drops taken on #5. There was a reason they had a drop zone on that hole.

I bet 5 and maybe 11 have the highest average in relation to par for the BR open

I see where you're coming from. It's hard to stick that little green with water on both sides. But hitting #2 at snatch requires a nice fade, and distance off the tee. 5 is pretty straight forward. Hit it down the line to the number.
#2 requires more skill IMO.
Agree to disagree I guess.

Based on these pictures, there is no way they are harder than number 5 at Santa Maria

I've only played Snatch twice and I remember #2. What's the par 3 with a damn oak tree on left covering half the damn green?
Posted on 6/23/14 at 7:35 pm to BRgetthenet
#5 at Santa Maria may see more pars than #2 atchafalaya but I bet #5 has a higher scoring average

due to penalty strokes in water

#7 looks like the only one that could compare, but all of those holes have at least one thing SM doesn't: a bail out area.
I give this one to SM.

Just looked up the course stats form the adams tour event this year. Number of birdies for the week on each par three:
#17 - 47 total birdies
#5 - 41 total birdies
#2- 34 total birdies
#11- 30 total birdies
Like I said earlier, number five is not even the hardest par three at SM and there are two par threes that are harder.

Short all day long on number 5 at Santa Maria. Even left - you have to hit a pretty hard hook for it to get into the water.

Well I don't hit shots like guys in the Adams tour
Posted on 6/23/14 at 7:41 pm to unbeWEAVEable
You're wrong. I give it to #2 at the snatch.
Sorry.
Sorry.

7 from tips with wind blowing against u was the hardest par 3 I ever played. And I played ocean course with 20mph wind and sawgrass 17
