I don't go to NOLA much and I certainly don't use the cabs, but I know those prices are bullshite.
They are just trying to keep Uber out.

We have so much regulation and still the cabs suck. From the dome to the quarter is like $7-8. But one day a cabbie decided to charge us $25.
He had the meter off, just wanted $25.
What a prick.
I don't mind Nawlins Cab, United and the blue one, but there are like 40 different companies and most suck arse.
