Has ESPN shown the tv ratings from the USA/Portugal match?

I wonder if this had more viewers than the 2010 match against Gana

those probably wont be out so soon.

They usually come out with a preliminary rating the next morning and a detailed rating in a few days.

I'm never sure how ratings could possibly tell how many people watched the game, especially with big events that folks cram the bars for.

I've been watching this game called soccer for years. And in the 3 world cups I've lived in la for, never saw anything like this. Even 4 short years and the amount of people decked out watching this game across br has been 30x the amount of people. Summer in be, and every bar was packed with patriotism. I'm loving this.
You see the big viewings from other countries, ours was bigger or just as big. Simply amazing.

I doubt that the Nielsens have been accounted for yet

Well they would just take a sample and it is an estimate

Problem is the Nielsens are wayyyy too small of a sample.
So the idea that more people watch the game than the ratings suggest is valid. Not many of the Nielsens are going out to watch parties or the bars to watch the game

Jay Mohr sports reported the overnight was 9.6. Equal to Game 7 between the Heat and Celtics a few years ago. Pretty strong.

We basically had the same amount of Spanish viewers as the Mexico game. Absolutely massive.

Another money shot from @UnivisionSports: #USA vs. #POR (6.5 million) got only 300,000 fewer viewers than #MEX vs. #BRA (6.8 million)
This game would've broken a lot of records had it been on ABC.

18.2 million on ESPN, 6.5 million on Univision. 24.7 million combined. New all-time record for soccer viewership in American TV history.

Is it just me, or is soccer spreading like a wildfire here in the US? Don't get me wrong, I feel that we have a little ways to go for the sport to become more mainstream outside of the WC, but I feel like it's growing much faster than anticipated.
Either way, watching goal reaction videos around the country gives me goosebumps. For an entire nation to rejoice all at once in a single moment is unreal. As much as I want to finish strong in this WC, 2018 and 2022 will be even more exciting.
