Doing some research on buying a new range and was wondering if anyone has any experience good or bad with the Blue Star brand. Or how do they compare with Wolf or Viking?

Nothing compares to Viking IMO

But Blue Star is above Thermidor and Wolf.

I think that's the one hungryone just bought. Maybe she'll come around in a bit. There was an older thread on them a good while back, I think.

This may be the thread I recall.

I have one, have had it for a couple of years. The cooktop is fantastic, it's basically a commercial cooktop and is bulletproof. Mine has six unsealed burners, two of which are 22k BTU, which I think is the highest output on the market. It's easy to clean, and the star shaped burners deliver nice evenly distributed heat; the thing performs flawlessly. If you want a bunch of features like automatic stuff and want something that is electronics heavy, Viking and Wolf do that better. Also, the Blue Star cooktop is top notch but oven has been problematic. I have had the door replaced once and the convection fan is loud. It cooks great but was a pain in the arse early on, it's fine now. So if I had to do it over, I would get a Blue Star cooktop and an in wall oven from another vendor.
