Where did you buy it? Was it online? I'd like to check one out in person. I have an S3 and my contract is up in November. I'm considering going the non-contract route with my next phone.
I bought it directly from Motorola but you can get them on Amazon as well. Not sure where you could see a floor model, as I think only verizon sells them as a go phone, otherwise they are sold as no contract GSM. Maybe Boost mobile store?
I know I am just some guy on the internet, but I can assure yu the build quality is rock solid. Although it is heavier than the Galaxy, and a bit thicker, I feel like this phone fits in your hand better tan any other phone I have ever held.
You could always order one on amazon and return it...the box it comes in is unsealed so you could at east buy one and see it for yourself before committing. I did this and returned mine when I found out the 4G would be out within a month.
I kid you not, this phone has changed the way I will be buying phones from now on and makes me feel almost ashamed of spending on the galaxy. I truly think it is a game changer and will help to make phone prices more reasonable because someone will have to compete with it at that price point.
If you are just concerned with no contract, I can almost assure you the Moto X at $350 is a beast of a phone based on the Moto G, and still $150-200 less than galaxy or iphone retail.

You are mirroring my line of thought. I am wanting a slightly smaller screen. My biggest concern is the lack of a removable battery. I have 4 batteries for my S3. I'm hoping the Moto X + 1 might have a removable battery, but I realize that's just a pipedream. I'll probably get a Moto X and just swap the Sim card back to the S3 on days I need more battery life.
