Where do you yakers have success close to town ? I mainly fish GI but when I make a trip close to town it's Fort Pike. I've never had any success at FP, need a new spot.

In the fall and winter, go to one of the old backdowns at Hopedale Lagoon. You could probably pick up some reds in there in the summer.

I've got a few spots I want to try out if you want to teamup.

I was thinking about trying out of Campo's. I can't go this weekend but might be able to next weekend if I'm not down on GI.

If you do, will you pick me up 3lbs of dead shrimp? I want it for the 4th.

I'll be in Cocodrie next weekend. But the place I want to try is just across Chef Menteur Pass - Marquez Canal.

Yeah, going to Horn island w/ the fam if (1) engine is fixed and (2) weather is good

Delacroix is good but I think I'm the only one here who feels that way.

How is paddling in the Chef ? My yak is a pig in the water.

I think there are places to launch directly into Marquez Canal, so you don't have to cross the Chef. I'm not comfortable paddling through strong passes yet.

Yeah id rather avoid that.

I wish we had a map like this of the area.
These guys did a great job with theirs.

I think people don't want to share info

Not every honey hole, but general launch places would be very beneficial.

Go to Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club and become a member or read some posts. Membership will get you a map like you posted

I must be looking in the wrong spot. Never seen a map with that much info on it on BCKFC.
