If she were to file a lawsuit against her employer, it would be. The employer wouldn't be held liable unless they had knowledge of a threat or a relationship with the assailant.

I know that better than most, considering I've been shot 4 times, in the "dirty." What's that have to do with anything?

You've been shot 4 times. My brother had a gun pulled to his head and forced in the back room when he was a kid working a summer job. I pulled a gun on a guy breaking into my house through my bedroom window in the middle of the night. This doesn't happen everywhere, but it does here. With this region of the country, the liability goes up, and the threat is all the time. There's absolutely no reason a little girl like that should ever be running the store alone, ever, and especially a cell phone store for goodness sake.
