I just think it is crazy to think that clicking on something titled: "Soccer Board" would not contain something about current events in the World Cup.

there are plenty of threads about current events in the world cup. participate in the threads

You guys shouldn't expect people to hold off discussing a World Cup match that may have a spoiler in the title.

why not tell them to discuss the match in the match thread? the thread titles will be taken care of by the regular posters who have done a good job of starting the game threads. all that needs to be enforced is keeping in-game discussion to the in-game thread and there will be no problem

Yeah, I'm not really sure why match results can't be discussed in the match thread. Is there really a need to have people creating threads just to say "Adios, Spain?"

I think the biggest issue here is that the regulars of the Soccer Board have an expectation that match results won't be spoiled, regardless of the time zone in which the games are played. That's the precedent that's been set and it's worked for 4 years. For me, I work while 2 of each day's 3 matches are being played while I can get home in time for the 2nd half of the 3rd match. I do like to check in on the Soccer Board during the day to see if any new transfers have happened or to see what new rumors are flying about. And there is still good discussion regarding topics other than the World Cup matches. So it would be nice if I could do that without the possibility of someone ruining a result for me. Now, I don't get pissed when that does happen since I have limited time available to watch matches, but it's nice to know there's a place to go and discuss the sport without the possibility of spoilers.

I guess a score board could help those that can't grasp the idea of no scores or spoilers on the board, but is it truly worth the time and effort to make that happen?
