I actually think they left themselves an out in Man of Steel.

If you remember, Martha told him that, when he was an infant, she was worried that he wouldn't survive because he had significant problems breathing. It took him until he was about 6 to fully adjust to conditions on Earth.

If you take that at face value, Kryptonian DNA is incredibly weak in our sun and atmospheric conditions until a certain age...so Kryptonian sperm may be weaker as well.

The bigger concern in this case may be a miscarriage or stillborn.

but the problem here is, hes a full grown adult. his sperm wouldnt be weak anymore. its just when they first get to Earth and have to adjust to it. By that logic, Superman would have to go away for awhile to have to readjust to Earth, or Lois could get pregnant by a Kyptonian just arriving to Earth.

I think the red light idea would work though, since it reverts Kal-El to normal strength. Lois would probably have to bathe in that light for much of the pregnancy I would imagine.

It's not the sperm that would kill her. It's the force in which the sperm is shot into her that would kill her.
