Then I moved down here and told people where I was from, and it was 'Yankee this' and 'Yankee that'. To me it seems like the southerners are the ones with the problem. My wife's family is from central PA. My experience is that the best way to describe PA is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in the middle. That being said I still get weird looks up there every once in awhile. As well as get comments from her family when they believe certain misconceptions.

I've lived in 8 states, and by far the worst, in regards to making fun of the south, was Ohio. Which is strange, considering the most racist state in America for over 25 years was Miamisburg, OH. And that they have more rednecks than any southern state I have lived in(Va, AL, SC,and TN).
