Well some of the old games you can still get new for a negligible price difference.
People on this board don't like the used game market, but until it vanishes with the increased use of digital gaming, I'll continue to use it.

Does renting games have the same negative connotation? I have never really bought used games in the past.

I don't fall into that bucket. Developers have been putting out garbage in hopes of quick pay days since the beginning. Hell look what they did in the 80s. Now with the rise of early access games that never leave the early access stage after they made their cash, I feel no pain for devs when it comes to the used game market.
Especially when it comes to the lack of them giving us an acceptable way to play classics. Shouldn't have to resort to Mame/Emus/Roms. It's ridiculous how little memory the entire library of NES roms is.
