I am not really sure I was more qualified than the girls that got the internship, but there were two dudes in my class that had everything needed: research, 4.0 GPA, extra computer skills (programming and such), past internship experience in the same field. My mind was blown when they chose the girls over them.

It's a running joke with the senior level staff. If he has to hire somebody, it will always be girls. And he goes eats with them all the time.
Word is somebody put in a fake resume a couple years back that was borderline perfect, to see if they'd get selected. Didn't even get a call. Hired someone with no computer experience to be a software trainer. You had to laugh.

I am having trouble thinking of changes to make to a resume specifically for a girl, especially if they are getting it electronically because you can't dress up the delivery package (reference to the golden paperclips).
Boy or girl, I would try to include as many keywords as possible from the job listing. Mirror their language.
I guess make the resume look as stylish as possible, almost to the point of being fancy, and concise.
