I like Bobby alot more than I like Deke but I don't mind Deke at all. Bobby is just the only person I can imagine listening to after we play the dirty birds or a big game when we're the underdogs (Patriots 09) for example. Dudes just so pumped and drunk it's awesome lol

What was our fearless leaders reply to such an important question about team conditioning ?
Posted on 6/12/14 at 7:20 pm to Slapouttiger
He said something like "We're just going to stick to what we've been doing."

Bobby could give a frick what any of us think. This is why I like him.

Why do they keep him on if he's so terrible? Serious question. Seems like the powers-that-be would recognize said shittiness and get someone better. Yet he remains.
Btw, I like Bobby. He does provide his fair share of cringe-worthy moments when I'm listening but what keeps him there?
If I could change one thing about him it would be to take away his favorite phrase: "when you look at". Seems he can't start a sentence without saying that. And he asks the longest questions ever.
"Coach Payton, when you look at how the offense has performed last year, and you look at who we drafted in Brandin Cooks who put up great numbers in college at Oregon St and you look at their offense and how they used him, the Saint's offense was ranked fourth in the league and we let Darren Sproles go, will Brandin have the same type plays designed for him because you look at the amount of times we ran the screen and that was Darren's bread and butter, I can see us using him in a similar fashion with Jimmy Graham still holding out for more money, what do you think Coach"?
I'm like, WTF did he just say?

I don't have the energy to worry about whether or not our radio guy is operating within someone's abstract parameters of good taste or not
He's a familiar and welcome voice on the radio after a game, that's as far as I can take it. I'm certainly not embarrassed by him.

Is that a picture of Baby Hebert?

Bobby is awesome and tells it like it is. I am interested in the answer to the question. It is a valid question. We were told to abstain when I played. Op is a pansy who never played sports.

NO...it really isn't.

And I've have told coach to F off too. Hey guys, you're on the high school/college football team. Don't have sex with hot chicks. OK coach

OP is calling Bobby for the dumbass he is
And truthfully it's not even just Bobby. It's the entire station that sucks, save Jim Henderson during a Saints broadcast. I'll be listening on my way in for a game and they get a caller who goes on and on and on and on about nonsense. They either let the caller talk for 5 minutes (which is horrible radio) or they cut him immediately if he disagrees with the hosts.

This is another wonderful and original post.
Bobby > O'rly

His son did play at LSU Paddy
And as someone said
quote:
The only people I've heard that are upset over this are the majority of people on here. None of the other reporters seemed to care. It was obvious it was said for laughs.

Honestly its all about the what have you done for me latley. The radio would be different without a Bobby Hebert or a Deke Bellavia. When all said and done, do I like him? Yeah yeah, no, Lester.

I love this argument. It's so nonsensical.
I play sports every week. Wouldn't matter if I didn't. I could still tell if a reporter is terrible at his job or not.
As someone else pointed out, it's not just Bobby. WWL in general is terrible. Too many commercials. Do we really need a traffic update every hour? And why do they need to whisper "This is wwl blah blah blah" into the mic during a press conference? MF'er, did we forget?
I guess with a station like this, it would only make sense to have a mush mouth drunk as one of your lead reporters.

I don't really care about CFB at all. I watch LSU play sometimes, but if they lose, eh.

In their defense, I think most if not all stations do this.
FWIW, I don't dislike Bobby or anything. He's just a horrible talk show host. As is Deke. And pretty much the rest of 870.

If you listen to an interview that Bobby Hebert conducts, then one a real pro conducts...and you still think Bobby is "fine"...I don't know what to tell you.
He is terrible at his job.
