You're missing a step in there... IIRC, the Iraqis BEGGED us to stay longer in order to stabilize things and Obama basically told them "frick you, we're going home."

You don't RC. Our staying beyond 2011 was contingent upon te Iraqi parliament approving the version of the SOFA that provided our troops immunity from Iraqi courts. They balked. We walked.
