Install Windows 7 Help

So, I am a bit baffled today. I got a new SSD a while back and finally had time to install Windows 7 on to it. I figured I would just unhook my old hard drive and plug in the solid state, then install windows 7. Did all that and it was great windows installed fine and booted up nicely. However, I couldn't hook up my second monitor and the internet would not connect. ( I am hard wired) The screen resolution was way out of wack and seemed odd. So, I then plugged my hard drive back in thinking this would do the trick. As soon as I plugged it in, it blue screened me and forced me to restart. But, still booted to the ssd with nothing installed. I unpluged the SSD and booted off my hard drive and its all fine. My questions are why won't it boot both my monitors and all my stuff from my hard drive when i try to boot off my ssd?

(1) Update your drivers....

missing drivers for your video card and ethernet card would be my guess.

Do you have all of the needed drivers on the SSD.
It seems it would have all of the drivers on the Hard Drive. But, the SSD is missing them.

Yeah, but i figured if i have the up to date drivers on the hard drive why do i need them on my SSD?

If this is the case, what is the easiest way to move all those files to the SSD?

I'm guessing it is booting from the SSD...so, them being on the HD isn't doing much good.
You should be able to download the drivers (even onto a USB drive) and then boot up and install them.

I don't think I have the disc for my GPU and Ethernet where can I download these at?

Just get your Ethernet card driver (online. Use a different computer if needed) Then boot up and install THAT one. From there, you can go online on the computer in question and download the others you need

Is there anyway i can just cut and paste the ones from my HD to my SSD?

Well..it is almost that easy. But, they need to the correct ones and 'installed'.
There are programs that you can download that will search your drivers (on the old drive) and then install them on the new SSD.
But, I'd really just get the access to the internet first and download the latest, best drivers for your Win7 version and hardware.
Once you gain innerweb access, it isn't difficult at all

Do you have access to another computer?
I think you said you can still use the other hard drive. Can you slave that one? If not, at least boot from it and go online to dl the Ethernet driver. If you know HOW to locate the driver, you can transfer it to the SSD. I'm just uncertain of your ability to do that. I am NOT trying to condescend at all.

Is your ethernet plug directly located on the motherboard or do you have a seperate card? If it's on the motherboard go to the manufacturer's website and find drivers there. You'll need to know the model of your motherboard and obviously the manufacturer. Also, you could install Belarc and run it and it will tell you what type of motherboard you have as well as the type of ethernet card you have if it's separate from the motherboard.

If someone is literate and asks a question for help, sure. But these threads are ridiculous.

What level of expertise is needed to post here? Can we get a test?
How in the hell would one know what is a "too remedial" question?
I mean, you are undoubtedly MUCH more advanced than me...but, i can likely find someone that laughs at YOUR level of understanding. Who determines how 'high' up the chart one must be to ask a question?
The question asked was about a 'tech' subject. It was one that the OP truly wanted info on. To lambaste the thread as beneath you is silliness. Simply pass over the too elementary threads (I am serious..not upset if you do that at all) and let those of us that NEED to stay in the shallow end of the pool stay here.
It would be WONDERFUL if an expert would simply pop in and give his opinion...even if it is "this is a bit more advanced than you appear ready for. Please hire a guy to do this". But, having the expert simply splash water in the face of the 'shallow end denizens' is pathetic.
