Quite possibly. For kids stuff, it was great. Movies, not as good as the 80s, but still had some solid flicks. For music and fashion, it was atrocious, but fashion was awful in the 80s as well.

I really like 80s movies, but let's face it that most of them were cheesy. The 90s, not so much. Yeah, they had them, but the most memorable movies from the 90s are pretty much masterpieces. We had "Big Trouble in Little China" and "The Goonies" as memorable films in the 80s. The 90s gave us stuff like Shawshank, Schindler's List, The Truman Show, and Goodfellas. I think that many 80s movies are more defined by slouch, while the 90s great movies are period pieces and will hold up far better in the coming decades than the 80s will.
