I think its more of a challenge to find things, hunting, fishing thats on the cheap, or on sale. I'm not an impulse buyer, I like to shop. Find whatever you want, keep abreast of the going price and just wait, you'll find it cheaper some where. But, I do have some things that at the time were pricey, that I bought and still have it today. Wolverine boots, pd 100 15 years ago and werent the priciest at that time, but are still going strong on its 3rd set of soles. Bought some binocs for 650.00, again 15-20 years ago, and still going strong. Matter of fact some of the accesories for the binocs were dry rotted or had tore. Called the company and they said ship em up here and will fix and clean everything. Month later, got em back with no charge. I guess they had a lifetime warranty. So some things are worth the price, just don't need to keep ice that long.

Many people knock on higher end guns. I not talking H&H or Purdeys, but good quality Berettas, Brownings, or older shotguns. I have some side by side shotguns that are pushing 100 years in age and look great. Why not have some engraving and hand work for a gun that will last multiple generations if not abused...
