comparing his senior year to Rettig's senior year
Harris
209/330 63.3% 3518 yards (10.66 ypa) 37 TDs 9 ints
144 carries 1153 yards (8.0 ypc) 17 TDs
Rettig
261/486 62.2% 3424 yards (7.02 ypa) 40 TDs 18 ints
Jennings had under 60% cmp I believe. Just using this though, he had pretty good accuracy. I've heard from several Parkway alums, that his WRs drop a lot of passes. This year I'd be happy for 58% cmp. Cam is definitely going to use that arm so his ypa will be higher than one would expect from a true freshman QB.
Just to be clear, I wasn't making a case for Rettig. I've never seen him play, and don't know anything about him.
As for those numbers, that looks a lot better than what I've seen. Per lsusports.net:
quote:
Completed 178-of-329 passes for 3,172 yards with 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions as a senior
That would put his senior year at 54%.
quote:
Threw for 2,573 yards and 26 touchdowns on 152-of-306 passing as a junior
Just under 50% as a junior.
BUT, lsusports.net could be wrong. I've actually seen them make quite a few statistical/numerical errors over the years. So, where did you get those senior stats from?
Perhaps it's lsusports.net that has the accuracy issues!
*I was looking in the LSU Record Book last night for statistics on Mitch Andrews for the Jersey Countdown Thread, and I noticed they had the playing years for TE Malcolm Scott wrong. He played at LSU from 1979-82. His playing years were listed as 1982-85.
I'd be glad to learn that they are wrong about Harris as well.

I just used him for measuring since he and Harris have close to the same yardage and TDs.

I got those stats directly from his highlight video. lsusports.net has a lot of misinformation.
Go look at his 247 page profile. Same stats I posted.
If you watch his junior then senior highlights, you'll see a QB who has developed greatly in just a one year timeframe.i think he's one of those guys like Teddy Bridgewater, who develops greatly on a yearly basis. All of Teddy's statistics went up from year to year at Louisville. I see the same thing happening for Harris.
