This shite right here. It's stunning what you can tell yourself and actually believe the lies you're spinning. I had myself convinced that yeah, I'd put some weight since college, but I was still strong and mostly muscle. As you can see by the photos, below, I was straight up beefy. I'm 6'4" and was tipping the scales around 275. It wasn't a debilitating injury or some disorder that got me there, just gaining that extra 5-10 pounds a year. But I was in complete denial over it. These pictures were from 3 years ago (if you obviously didn't know, I'm the fatty in gray):
Seeing these photos made me realize I couldn't deny it any longer. I needed to get back to my college/high school weight. In less than a year, I dropped 90 pounds. It's been 2 years and the weight is still off. My quality of life is so much better, not to mention being able to enjoy a much more active lifestyle. I run and lift 6 days a week but it's because I want to and not because it's a chore. As others have said, if you want to keep the weight off you need to adopt a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Thanks, man. It was a long climb back but I'll never return to those days. Hell, I haven't been in a fast food restaurant in 2 years and have zero desire.

198. Only down to 191, but will be at 180 by end of month (or back up to 198).
