IMO 16' isn't high enough, at least not where we are inshore. See if you can find out how high the surge was for that area during Katrina, Rita, Isaac, Ivan and base it off that. Or maybe see how high the oldest camps are in the area.

Ours is cross-braced like a mofo and still sways in medium winds. We have the bottom open as well, but have a large sail of a front porch on it

Storm surge in Venice for Katrina was like 12-13ft at my parents business warehouse. In empire/Buras surge was higher but they have less marsh to buffer from storms.

It will take category 3 or greater to flood Venice. Venice has only flooded once which was Katrina. Buras/Empire only flooded in Camille and Katrina I think. Just making the point that it's not a common occurrence.
