what is Plants deal
How come he wont get on board and wants to keep dragging this reunion tour on...
I was really hoping with that remastered album coming out that they would be a Hangout Fest headliner! (I can dream cant I!)

I don't get it either. It's not like he doesn't want to do LZ songs. He did several in his set at Jazzfest.

He kind of comes off like axl rose!
I mean he should do it for at least his fans. They are not getting any younger

Plant no longer has the voice for LZ.

Lots of money they are missing out on

If Page still has the itch, he should just get Rodgers and do some Firm shows w/some Zep thrown in.

Plant is allegedly angry at Page for throwing him under the bus re ripping off the old blues musicians on early Zepp tunes.

more likely that Page isn't up to the guitar standards. Plant has done a lot of cool shite over the past few years, as has Jones. Perhaps Page needs the cash. I'd rather watch "Song Remains the Same" than go see an old Zep without Bonzo, but I dug the shite out of seeing Dave Rawlings Machine with JPJ on mandolin.

My take:
1. Plant was privy to the ´stealing´ of old blues tunes and of what they would have considered their peers prior to exploding on the scene. Granted, it´s more on Page, but still, to me, this doesn´t wash.
2. Page doesn´t seem like a dumbass, I don´t think he needs money.
3. Led Zeppelin was always about the sum of it´s parts, and I can´t grasp them doing something without Bonzo. Even the stuff with Bonzo´s son, I don´t think all three were ´in´.
4. JPJ is prolific, always has been, this would only report cash to his bank account, but would probably drain his soul a bit.
5. Plant, I´m sure is OK financially as well, I don´t sense urgency.
6. RE Reunion and fans. They owe nothing to anyone, fanwise.

I don't think any of them need the money. Their reunions at the Atlantic 40th anniversary was done out of respect to Ahmet Ertegun. The London O2 show was for Ertegun's charity I believe. Plant has long been on record saying he can't do the LZ stuff the same way. I just don't think he wants to do it. He obviously likes to play some Zep stuff but he arranges it differently which would be totally against Page's wishes IMO. Cash doesn't motivate them - it sure didn't ABBA when they were offered over a billion to reform.
They are all great artists and together they're terrific, even with Jason. I'm still moved by the version of Stairway at the Kennedy Center - both the song itself and how obvious it affects Plant.

Plant doesn't want to get dragged back into the bullshite that goes along with being in Led Zeppelin. Page is known for heavy handedness and the tours turn into tense affairs with everyone having their own camp. Lots of infighting and people trying to curry favor by any means. Take all that into account and Plants loyalty to Bonham, and that's why you'll never see Zeppelin tour again.

For one thing it wouldn't be Led Zeppelin, it would be Page, Plant, Jones and a drummer. Jon Bonham was such a huge part of the band's sound, there's no replacing that, just to do one reunion tour.

Several years ago when Plant was working with Allison Krauss, one of the music HD channels showed a performance with an interview at the end. During that interview, Plant seemed like the ring leader of the reunion tour idea. He sounded genuinely excited about it. I remember this vividly bc it got me excited too. But now something has happened to cause bad blood and it's to the point of bitterness according to the Rolling Stone article. Maybe something happened at the reunion show they did in 2007 Or maybe Plant realized he couldn't do it justice any more. Whatever his deal is, it seems irreparable.
Has anyone seen or heard the Celebration Day performance? How'd they sound?

Celebration Day was pretty damn good. Not 1975 good, but definitely worth watching.
