I'm pretty sure DFH pulled out of Tennessee when I lived there because they were scaling back as they couldn't meet the demands of their own local market, let alone country-wide market. I thought it was a pretty "craft" thing to do - in other words, focus on meeting the demands of your local market while maintaining your quality. Is this downsizing over? Was this even true?

I can't imagine that meeting the market needs of Milton, Delaware is all that hard for Dogfish Head.

The bottom line with all beer expansion is that the breweries strategically place themselves in markets where they think they will do well. They have plenty of analytics to work with. The fact that relatively few have entered Louisiana indicates that there are other targets considered more lucrative than the home of 10oz Coors Light Pony Cans.

I think they recently announced they'd be coming back with a limited line up. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's what I remember hearing.
