Here's what still vexes me about iOS - notifications.
After 7 years and a complete redesign of iOS, Apple still can't figure it out. Whenever one receives a new message, the top portion of the screen becomes unusable for ~3 seconds while the notification is displayed, which effectively prevents the user from actually using any of the contextual controls within an app.
You can reach up and swipe it away, but this becomes tedious after a very short period of time.

A bigger gripe for me about notifications is they stay in the notification shade after you check it.
