Katrina made New Orleans question everything. We're keeping the food, the music, the architecture, the parades, and all the weird stuff we like. We're changing everything else. Evidence - the new hospital facility, the new airport, the charter schools...

I think that a lot of people living New Orleans before the storm lived there because they didn't see a way out. Now, everyone who lives there does so because they want to. The whole city is there because they believe in it. It's a whole different attitude.
