So far this episode is very filler and sort of Monster of the Week

As you can see from my post. Not a big fan of this one. The plot makes no sense. Not like the sheep went missing over night so not sure why he wasn't able to keep the beetles alive before the sheep died out. The ending really makes no sense because he is dead so who is going to finish his research?

quote:

Of course Liv immediately tries to bolt instead of talking about ANYTHING. She says "She's the one who took this away...not me," but it isn't fricking Peter either, girl. Calm down. Damn.

Then she wants it.

Then she doesn't.
Typical so it is believable.

So wait, they think that the building could be a soft spot and that the people on the balcony just fell straight through the concrete...yet they're out there standing around chilling on it like it's NBD? Hilarious (and stupid).
As I said in my post, Why didn't they evacuate the building once they knew it was a soft spot.

So I'm confused...the original bus thing was an event or not?
Wasn't the bus event terrorism?

Seems like a weak explanation for what was going on...and if something as simple as that can start colliding universes, then we are all fricked.
As I said, it was pretty weak writing at the end of the episode.

because it seems like SUPER lazy writing right now.
At this point, it is almost inexplicable that Olivia and Peter don't remember everything. Do the observers show up with a memory eraser and we don't remember that?

Impossible Olivia wouldn't remember the man who stopped her Step-Dad from wailing on her.

Just wanted to say that Joust on Atari is a pretty horrible game.
The kid wasn't playing the Atari version. It was the standalone mini-console.

As we have said before the mechanism for jumping makes no sense and isn't consistent. What is the differenve between the times she stays in the alternate universe and when she hops right back?

but then she goes into Walter's office and talks to him but he isn't there (was that Walternate?). What the frick?

She was super freaked and scared to tell Walter about her step dad so she was scared and also feeling excited and loved by Walter at the same time, so she hopped without knowing and gave Walternate her coloring book. Damn good scene.

I liked this one. That was a plausible way for Walternate to find out about alternate universes. He saw a chick appear and disappear in front of him and her book had a drawing of her meeting with Peter and the book didn't disappear so he knows it wasn't a hallucination.

You can't get all redheads...you get RedLiv. I can entertain the bug chick (even though her assumed love for spiders would undoubtedly drive us apart in the long run).

Yeah, I didn't even get the whole "sheep died out" thing anyway. What happened to make sheep die out as a species in the altverse? To be fair, I wasn't paying full attention at that point of the episode, and I noticed I had to rewind a few times cuz I missed something.

And it was weird that he was clearly a smart guy, and found a way to create these bugs and bring them back from fricking EXTINCTION (that's a pretty big deal ), but his only goal was to create a queen (that was untested) and then nothing else? Did he assume that one singular queen would repopulate the world with this bug? The whole "Make sure they spell my name right" was cool I guess, but what would they say about him? "In other news, Dr. Silva was a cold blooded killer who murdered people in the name of science in order to try to recreate an extinct bug and make it grow inside of people by the hundreds and eat their way out of the bodies. That's Dr. Silva...S-I-L-V-A...he's the murderous psychopath." *Close credits with a smile on his face* ??

That's what I thought.

Exactly. Like I said, with Peter I assume the eventual fall into the lake (well, other than the one we just saw him take) is possibly enough to traumatize his brain and make him forget everything. But Liv is a normal girl. Now, we know that something suppressed her memories of everything since at the beginning of the show she had no idea who Walter was or that she even had lived in Jacksonville and was tested on. But still...outside of the cortexiphan, I can't think of anything that would've made her forget literally everything from a pretty important time in her life (pre-teen). Jacksonville, the testing, her stepdad, Peter, Walter, etc. It's all pretty important things that would no doubt stick out in her memory, but she recalls literally nothing? Something is up, and I don't remember if we ever get resolution of why. But if we don't, then that is gonna bug me a lot.

Close enough, and it looked just like the Atari game as well:

I have no idea.

LIke she jumps the first time, but then her stepdad grabs her? So she wasn't in the altverse at all, or was she? Because I thought the whole point of "jumping over" meant that you literally jumped over into the other one...so like she would've vanished from her stepdad's sight. Unless she magically jumped back and it was only for a split second and he didn't notice?

Okay, yeah...now that you explain that, it makes sense. So she did jump, and give Walternate her book...and then jumped back and was in the empty office. And Walternate saw Peter in her notebook. That's right. I can appreciate that scene more now...I think I was checking fantasy stuff at the end of that episode, so I was in and out of paying attention. I found myself doing that a lot for this batch, which speaks to their boringness, since usually my only distraction is typing my thoughts into my phone for a few seconds here and there.
