Had one in my last house and it worked great. We had a black lab and it was incredible how often I had to change out the filter because of all his shedding. It lasted about 12 years before I had to replace it.
The only thing I don't like about it is how my wife would drag that hose across that house and frick up the base boards. We are building again soon and she wants another one so of course I'm buying another.

I do agree with this...probably best to have more outlets and a shorter hose to prevent this kind of thing...

We had one in the dorm. Combined it with a fleshlight in each room and it was real useful.
