Dude this is baseball, speed is the least utilized aspect of the game . He will never get drafted in the top 10 rounds . Love him as a college player but..........

I think 538 did a good study on that recently, showing that speed was the least valuable of the five tools. Here it is:

to be fair, PM has mentioned him a a guy that potentially could leave. Says scouts like him a lot. But i agree with the people here, he is fast as frick, but does not have a MLB caliber arm. And he's really not that great of a hitter at this point. He has the tools to hit .340-.360 and if he does that as a JR then we can talk about this.

It may not be this year, or even next, if he is set on staying in school. But given the current bonus pool system he probably will at some point.

FYI, the scouts may disagree. This draft list has Laird in the top 300 prospects (247), which would place him in the top 10 rounds.
