IF you go sub-compact, I wouldn't necessarily advocate .45 rounds. I recently talked to an older guy that sells guns at Academy and recommended going with an expensive/high grain hollow point 9mm in a subcompact because the .45 caliber rounds don't reach their max potential in a shorter barrel. He was specifically referring to the XDS .45, and was against it.. but in the same breath said the 9mm version of that particular gun was still solid if you buy good ammo.

Me personally, I'm a big time .40 fan. (not in reference to a sub-compact, just in general)

Any of y'all heard anything about a subcompact barrel length not facilitating enough distance in a barrel for a bullet to travel to reach what it's capable of in higher caliber rounds?
