FWIW I don't think the OP was bitching about the guide, just kicking rocks and saying it sucks when you do everything you can to catch fish, hire a pro to help, and it doesn't work out. Then at the end of the day you still have to cut the check. More a "misery loves company" post than downvoting the guide.

I feel the same way about offshore fishing. My brother has a boat and it's fun, but sometimes you go out for blue water, get your arse kicked, come back with emtpy fish boxes, and at the end of the day still have to pony up $300 and a lost weekend with nothing to show for it.
