It's clear now that the NFL is dangling a Super Bowl carrot -- and by that I mean jump to the front of the line -- so that taxpayers can subsidize the billionaire owners. And New Orleans/Louisiana taxpayers should not have to pay for something like that when there are a litany if infrastructure issues that are higher priority. Historical relevance/atmosphere/ease of access, etc. be damned. It's now officially about publicly funding a league full of JerryWorlds.

Exactly this. Jacksonville, Detroit, NYC, Indy and Minneapolis all point this fact out. NFL would rather extort money from cities than provide a Super Bowl fans the best experience.
