It's funny to see people dance around this question. The longstanding etiquette with those performers is that if you take a picture of them, toss them a freaking dollar or even just some change.

The building comparison is ludicrous and barely merits a response. That's like saying you shouldn't tip the valet guy because you also don't tip the hotel building where you stay.

well you are already paying to stay in the building so you have already tipped her quite well.

And the guy broke character and sounds like a shitty robot. He needs to up his game and worry about his performance to see more tips.

They're fricking scenery just like a building or a tree. They're not some great vegas act that is amazing the crowd.

The valet guy is providing you with a SERVICE. He is allowing you easier access to the building, parking your car for you, and bringing it right to the door when you leave.

Person in OP is standing still. Literally. That's not a service.
