from purely an economic standpoint, why would he do this? He could easily ride out this shite contract and collect 2/3s of your total 3 yr deal in the last deal of his current contract. Then he could easily find a buyer in the 6M dollar range for 3 seasons, and that is a lowball contract imo.

He wouldn't...he isn't opting out of that last year, it is insane to think otherwise.
